Starkville Police operate safety zone, rideshare pickup in Cotton District
The Starkville Police Department said it operates a safety zone and a rideshare pickup and drop-off point in the Cotton District on Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
The department posted the information on its official Facebook page, saying the measure is designed to support public safety in high-traffic areas. The rideshare pickup and drop-off location will continue operating from the same site the department has used since a 2024 change, the post said.
The Starkville Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency responsible for public safety in Starkville. The Cotton District is a busy commercial and entertainment area that attracts large crowds on weekend nights, and cities often use designated safety zones and centralized rideshare locations to manage traffic and improve pedestrian safety.
The department did not provide additional operational details in its post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
