Starkville Police set Friday-Saturday safety zone, rideshare pickup in Cotton District
The Starkville Police Department said it is operating a safety zone and a rideshare pickup and drop-off area in the Cotton District on Fridays and Saturdays from 10:00 p.m. to 1:00 a.m.
The department said the measure is designed to support public safety in high-traffic areas, particularly during weekend evenings when bars, restaurants and events draw larger crowds.
The department posted the information on its Facebook page and said the rideshare pickup and drop-off location will continue to operate from the same location used since the 2024 change.
The Starkville Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency for Starkville, Miss., and the Cotton District is a central entertainment and dining neighborhood near Mississippi State University that frequently attracts residents and visitors. Officials did not provide additional operational details or enforcement protocols. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
