Oxford police attend Stonewater recovery center first responders day

The Oxford Police Department said in a Facebook post that officers attended Stonewater Adolescent Recovery Center’s annual First Responders Day, writing that they “had a great time” and praising the center for its work with people on their recovery journeys.

Stonewater Adolescent Recovery Center is an organization that provides recovery support and behavioral health services for teenagers working to overcome substance use and related challenges. The center’s annual event recognizes first responders and offers an opportunity for local agencies and treatment providers to connect.

Police participation in community events like First Responders Day can strengthen relationships between law enforcement and residents and help reduce stigma around seeking treatment. Such outreach also highlights collaborations intended to support youth recovery and public safety.

Details about the event, including participating agencies and activities, were not provided in the post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
