Gulfport man faces charges after shooting into delivery trailer
Gulfport, Mississippi — A 66-year-old Gulfport man was arrested June 9 after police say he fired a gun into a motorcycle delivery trailer and threatened the driver, the Gulfport Police Department said in a Facebook post.
Officers responded at about 8:14 a.m. to the 600 block of Sarazen Drive after receiving a report of a person with a firearm, the department said. During the investigation, officers learned the man, identified as Stuart Lee Huffman, had a motorcycle delivered to his residence and disputed an additional delivery fee with the driver.
Police said Huffman threatened the driver and discharged a firearm into the trailer after the victim closed the trailer door. After the victim began unloading the motorcycle, Huffman allegedly said, “You’ve got two choices: either leave, or I’m going to kill you,” the department said. He was charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of shooting into a motor vehicle.
Huffman was arrested, processed at the Gulfport Police Department and later taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where Judge Fountain set bond at $500,000, the department said. Anyone with information is asked to call Gulfport Police at 228-868-5959 or Mississippi Coast Crime Stoppers at 877-787-5898. This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
