D’Iberville Elementary School held a program honoring and thanking first responders and military members for their service and sacrifice, according to the D’Iberville Police Department.
Students and staff presented the program and provided breakfast for everyone in attendance. The school’s students, teachers, staff and administration were thanked for helping make first responders and military members feel appreciated.
The event also honored the heroes of Sept. 11, 2001, with the message that they would not be forgotten.
Jon Ross Myers founded Mississippi News Group in 2013. Before founding the organization, he worked at The Daily Mississippian, The Marion Salute and The Southern Sentinel. A Mississippi journalist and writer based in Ripley, he received second place in poetry in the 2025 William Faulkner Literary Competition for "The Garden."
