D’Iberville first responders visit children at Mississippi LIFT program

D’Iberville police officers and firefighters recently visited children at the Mississippi LIFT Resource & Referral Extension at MSU Extension, according to the D’Iberville Police Department.

Sergeant Emily Dawson and officers Nicole Rosetti, Denzel Moreno and Liz Hill took part in the visit with members of the D’Iberville Fire Department. The department said the visit included time spent together, smiles, high fives and laughter, while giving the children an opportunity to see police officers and firefighters as friends who are there for them.

The department described the visit as an example of community policing built through relationships and said small moments, including a smile, conversation or simply being present, can have a meaningful impact.

The department said it wants every child in the community to know they matter, are loved and have community support. It also thanked Mississippi LIFT Resource & Referral Extension at MSU Extension for opening its doors for the visit.
