Officer-involved shooting in Jackson

Officers with the Jackson Police Department responded to a call for service on Interstate 220 regarding a hit and run incident.

The subject exited the vehicle with a weapon and the officers at the scene exchanged gunfire with the subject.

Officers began to approach a vehicle occupied by three subjects when it appeared that one of the subjects was reaching for an object in the car.

MBI received notification at approximately 12 noon of this incident.

Suspects were in an Infiniti with a stolen license tag.
