VICKSBURG, Miss. — The Vicksburg Police Department says it arrested a 15-year-old in connection with the Aug. 18, 2026, shooting at the Waltersville Estates apartment complex that left three people with gunshot wounds.
The department identified the suspect as Davonte Thigpen Jr. and said he was one of the three individuals who sustained gunshot wounds in the incident. Thigpen was arrested and charged as an adult with aggravated assault, the department said in a Facebook post.
The department said Thigpen appeared in court Friday, Aug. 21, 2026, where he was given a $25,000 bond. The Vicksburg Police Department said the investigation remains active and that additional arrests are expected as investigators continue to gather evidence and determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting.
