Starkville police investigate Friday shooting that injures two

Starkville Police Department said in a Facebook post that a Friday night shooting in the area of Westside Drive and Long Street left two people, ages 18 and 19, injured.

Officers transported one of the injured people to Baptist Memorial Hospital – Oktibbeha County following the incident, the department said. Additional information will be provided when appropriate, the post said.

The department asked anyone with information about the shooting or other criminal activity to contact the Starkville Police Department at 662-323-4131, Golden Triangle Crime Stoppers at 800-530-7151, or submit an anonymous tip through its website. Crime Stoppers may offer a cash reward for information leading to an arrest, the post said.
