The Hattiesburg Police Department said it is investigating a shooting that occurred at about 1:37 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 22, in the 200 block of North 25th Avenue.
Two people sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to a local hospital for medical treatment, the department said. The extent of their injuries was not disclosed.
The investigation remains ongoing. The department asked anyone with information that could assist investigators to contact the Hattiesburg Police Department at 601-544-7900 or Crime Stoppers by dialing TIPS. Crime Stoppers programs generally allow members of the public to provide information anonymously.
