Three Jackson State golfers finished in the top 20 at the rain-shortened Thomas W. Dortch Jr. HBCU Collegiate tournament at Bears Best Golf Course in Suwanee, Georgia, which was called after one round because of weather.
JD Berndt and Emmanuel Jensen each shot 3-over-par 75 to tie for 15th overall. They finished six shots behind the leaders. Trace Carpenter also placed in the top 20 with a 4-over-par 76.

Jackson State finished as a team at 18-over-par 306. The Tigers are scheduled to return to competition at the SAS HBCU Invitational in Cary, North Carolina, on Oct. 16.
