BMCU golfers Riddle, Nordstrom earn NAIA second-team All-American honors

KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Blue Mountain Christian University men’s golfers Cobey Riddle and Alex Nordstrom earned NAIA second-team All-American honors after standout sophomore seasons that helped the Toppers remain ranked inside the top 15.

According to Clippd rankings, Nordstrom finished 22nd nationally and Riddle 24th. Both players played major roles in keeping BMCU nationally ranked and helped lead the program to another successful year.

Riddle opened his sophomore season with a tournament victory at the Coastal Georgia Men’s Fall Invitational, recorded four top-10 finishes and posted a 15th-place individual result at the NAIA Men’s Golf National Championship.

Nordstrom recorded seven top-10 finishes and produced his best score at the Carey Collegiate, finishing seven strokes under par for the tournament. He shot a third-round 65 on a par-71 course, setting a new BMCU program record.

“As a coach, moments like this are incredibly rewarding because you know the journey behind it,” said Head Coach Kevin Barefield. “Alex and Cobey have worked tirelessly to put themselves in this position, and I’m just really proud of them. They competed at a very high level all year, but more importantly, they led our team with consistency, humility, and heart. To earn NAIA Second-Team All-American honors at this level says a lot about who they are and the season they put together. They are both incredibly deserving of this recognition.”

The NAIA, the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics, recognizes All-Americans as some of the top players among its member schools, which include smaller colleges and universities across the United States. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
