Mississippi State sweeps UT Arlington to finish Ragin’ Cajuns Classic 3-0
Mississippi State finished the Ragin' Cajuns Classic with a sweep of UT Arlington, giving the Bulldogs a 3-0 finish at the tournament in Lafayette, Louisiana. State held the Mavericks below a .100 hitting percentage throughout the match and recorded 10 total blocks.
Noella Obi led Mississippi State with four total blocks, including a solo block. Bernardita Aguilar paced the Bulldogs with 12 kills, followed by Lindsey Mangelson with nine. Ava Anderson and Obi each had four kills.
The Bulldogs hit .417 in the first set and recorded 14 kills in the second. They also totaled seven service aces. Cayley Hanson had three aces, while McKenna Yates and Mangelson each had two.
Hanson added 28 assists. Yates led the team with 17 digs, Mangelson had 11, and Mary Neal recorded a season-high 10 digs.
Mississippi State will return home for its SEC home opener against LSU on September 27. First serve is scheduled for 2 p.m., with the match available on SECN+.
