Mississippi State volleyball earned its fourth consecutive victory Friday, defeating in-state opponent Alcorn State in straight sets in Memphis, Tennessee.
The Bulldogs hit .351 as a team, their best mark of the season, and committed seven attacking errors, also a season low. Thirteen Mississippi State players saw action.
Lindsey Mangelson led Mississippi State with 13 kills on a .480 hitting percentage and 13.5 points, extending her run of matches with at least 10 kills to seven. Sydnie Waller added a season-high seven kills, while Paloma Routaboul finished seven rallies with kills.
Freshman middle blocker Cassidy Cage made her first start noted in the report and recorded five kills while contributing to three blocks. Gha'Naye Whitfield-Moss had six kills and two solo blocks.
McKenna Yates recorded 15 digs and has reached double figures in digs in every match this season. Cayley Hanson led the Bulldogs with 32 assists, and freshman setter Adrianna Jeanpierre added two assists after entering in the second set.
Mississippi State is scheduled to play host Memphis next in the Carrie Yerty Classic. First serve is set for 3 p.m. CT on ESPN+.
