Mississippi State volleyball swept Memphis in straight sets to conclude the Carrie Yerty Classic, earning its second sweep in as many days and improving to 7-1 on the season.
The Bulldogs hit .357 as a team. They opened with a .700 hitting percentage in a 25-7 first-set victory, won the second set 25-11 and closed the match with a 25-23 third-set win.
Bernardita Aguilar led Mississippi State with 13 kills while hitting .600. She also recorded seven digs and five blocks. Lindsey Mangelson added six kills and seven digs, while McKenna Yates had seven digs to tie for the team lead.
Noella Obi led the team with six blocks and added five kills. Paloma Routaboul also finished with five kills.
Mississippi State will return to action in the Ragin' Cajuns Classic against Louisiana on Thursday. The Bulldogs will face Jackson State on Friday and UT Arlington on Sunday.
