Jackson State volleyball falls to UT Arlington, Mississippi State in Lafayette

Jackson State volleyball lost in straight sets to UT Arlington and Mississippi State during a two-match day Friday at Earl K. Long Gym in Lafayette, Louisiana. Both matches were played at a neutral site.

UT Arlington defeated the Tigers 25-20, 25-20, 25-19. Katejion Robinson led Jackson State with nine kills and a solo block for 10 points.

Mississippi State won the second match 25-12, 25-21, 25-19. Hope Briggs led Jackson State with 12 kills on 20 swings, a .500 hitting percentage, a block assist and 12.5 points. Jayla David hit .800, converting four of five attacks without an error, and added two total blocks.

Jackson State will finish the tournament Saturday afternoon against host Louisiana, with first serve scheduled for 2 p.m.
