Mississippi Christian men’s and women’s tennis teams win Glen Arven titles

Mississippi Christian University’s men’s and women’s tennis teams captured championships at the Glen Arven Invitational in Thomasville, Georgia, during fall competition over the weekend.

The men’s team won the tournament title for the first time and completed the weekend without dropping a court in its finished matches. Mississippi Christian swept West Alabama, Valdosta State, West Florida and Florida State.

The victories over West Florida and Florida State gave the Choctaws two wins over Division I opponents during the weekend. The team was also in a strong position against Lee when lightning halted the match: Mississippi Christian led 1-0 and was at match point on the second court, while Lee held a one-set advantage on the third court.

The weekend extended a strong stretch for the Mississippi Christian men’s program, which finished the 2026 spring season 16-8 and reached the Gulf South Conference Championship semifinals.
