Mississippi State tennis duo set for Blue Gray Tennis Classic
Lauren Seye and Mia Robinson will represent Mississippi State in the Blue Gray Tennis Classic, a three-day event at Lagoon Park Tennis Center in Montgomery, Alabama. The Bulldogs will combine with Iowa State to form a four-player team and open against Utah at noon Friday.
The tournament uses a team format featuring four athletes per team. Each matchup includes two doubles matches and four singles matches, with every individual match worth one team point. Doubles will be played as a six-point set, while singles matches will be best two-of-three sets.
If the team scores are tied after singles, each side will choose one doubles team for a 10-point tiebreaker to determine which team advances.
Because of weather, Friday's action is scheduled to begin at 8 a.m. Central time. If weather and time permit, organizers will try to play Saturday's doubles matches Friday afternoon; times and locations are subject to change.
The event will be Seye's first fall appearance for Mississippi State after she joined the program from UCF. The sophomore from Drongen, Belgium, is one of 10 Bulldogs on the 2026-27 roster. Robinson, a sophomore from South Carolina, is returning for her second season and also will make her first appearance this fall.
Blue Gray is Mississippi State's second fall event after the ITA All-American Championships in Cary, North Carolina. The Bulldogs are scheduled to travel to Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for the ITA Regional Championships on Oct. 8-12 after the Montgomery tournament.
