Vicksburg police investigate shooting outside Seren Venue

VICKSBURG, Miss. — The Vicksburg Police Department is investigating a shooting that injured four people Sunday evening in a parking lot adjacent to the Seren Venue at 2000 Drummond Street, police said.

Officers responded about 7:50 p.m. to reports of a large fight involving multiple people following an event at the venue, the department said. While officers were en route, dispatch received additional calls reporting that shots had been fired and that multiple people had been struck by gunfire.

First responding officers observed people dispersing from the venue parking lot and a nearby lot across the street. Witnesses told officers one victim had already been taken to a local hospital by private vehicle. Investigators later determined that four individuals sustained gunshot injuries.

Police identified three people with non-life-threatening injuries — Adrianna Butler, Kamry Parker and Jarria Andrews — who were transported to local hospitals. Michael Rader sustained serious injuries and was airlifted to an out-of-area hospital for further treatment, the department said. Investigators also found several vehicles had been struck by gunfire.

The investigation remains active and the department said no additional information is being released at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Vicksburg Police Department at 601-636-2511 or Crime Stoppers at 601-355-TIPS (8477). This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
