Scott County deputies speak with Mt. Olive church youth at Vacation Bible School
The Scott County Sheriff’s Office said deputies spoke with youth at Mt. Olive M.B. Church on Saturday, June 27, 2026, as the church concluded its Vacation Bible School.
In a statement posted to the department’s Facebook page, the sheriff’s office said officers shared lessons intended to reflect the principles they seek to uphold daily: integrity, respect, accountability, compassion, faith and service to others.
The office said investing in young people is one of the community’s greatest responsibilities and that officials hope the discussions will encourage and inspire the children as they grow into future leaders. The post expressed appreciation to Mt. Olive M.B. Church for inviting the office to participate.
The Facebook post was signed Mike Lee, sheriff; Brad Ellis, chief deputy; and Joshua Thames, public information officer. The sheriff’s office said building positive relationships with youth remains a top priority and encouraged community members to contact the department to request participation in future events.
