Vicksburg honors police during National Police Week 2026

VICKSBURG, Mississippi — During National Police Week 2026, the Vicksburg Police Department said it is honoring the “brave men and women” who serve and protect the community and pausing to remember officers who died in the line of duty.

The department posted the message on its Facebook page, thanking officers for their courage, sacrifice and commitment and saying their work to keep Vicksburg residents safe does not go unnoticed.

National Police Week is observed annually to recognize law enforcement officers across the United States and to honor those who have lost their lives while serving. Communities and law enforcement agencies commonly mark the week with ceremonies, memorials and public acknowledgments of officers’ service.
