Scott County Sheriff’s Office honors officers during National Police Week
Scott County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook during National Police Week to honor the men who serve and protect the community and to remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty, the office said.
The post said the week serves as a reminder of law enforcement sacrifices, including long hours away from family, difficult calls and the courage it takes to answer duty under challenging circumstances. It thanked deputies for their dedication, professionalism and unwavering commitment to the citizens of Scott County.
The Facebook post included a sign-off listing names as they appeared on the post: “Mike Lee—Sheriff Brad Ellis—Chief Deputy Joshua Thames—PIO,” the office said. The post also expressed gratitude, remembrance and support for all who wear the badge.
National Police Week is observed each May and includes National Peace Officers Memorial Day, which honors law enforcement officers who died in the line of duty. Communities and agencies nationwide use the week for remembrance ceremonies and to recognize the contributions of police.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
