Scott County Sheriff’s Office honors deputies during National Police Week

The Scott County Sheriff’s Office posted on Facebook during National Police Week to honor deputies who have served and those who continue to serve, praising their commitment and sacrifice. The post said the work of deputies involves courage and dedication that often goes unseen.

It thanked retired deputies for their years of service and leadership and acknowledged active deputies for answering the call each day and standing ready when the community needs them most. The post also remembered those who made the ultimate sacrifice and offered support for the families who stand beside officers.

The post included the line, “Honor the fallen. Support the living. Never forget the sacrifice.” It was signed with names listed as Mike Lee, Sheriff Brad Ellis and Chief Deputy Joshua Thames, who was identified as the public information officer. Facebook displayed a notice that content may be unavailable if the owner limited the audience or removed the post.

National Police Week, observed each May, recognizes law enforcement personnel and the families of officers killed in the line of duty. The sheriff’s office message underscores local appreciation for law enforcement and the communal impact of their service. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
