Starkville police attend Family Support Network luncheon

The Starkville Police Department said Wednesday that officers attended a Family Support Network luncheon hosted by the Oktibbeha County Court.

In a Facebook post, the department said the event provided an opportunity for officers to learn more about resources available to them and available to the community. The department said it appreciated the invitation.

The Starkville Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency serving Starkville, Mississippi. Oktibbeha County Court handles county-level judicial matters and often coordinates with local agencies on community and social-service initiatives.

Family support network events typically bring together judges, social-service providers, law enforcement and community organizations to share information about programs such as victim services, mental health resources and family assistance. The department thanked Judge Turner and the Discovery Center for organizing the luncheon and supporting officers and residents.

We will provide more information as it becomes available.
