Southaven Police Department officers competed as a team at LawFit 2026 after months of preparation, the department said in a Facebook post. The three-day competition is designed to strengthen and sharpen tactical skills, physical fitness and mental resilience.
The department said participants took part in events in the gym, on the track and in the field, pushing themselves and supporting one another. The post said the display of teamwork reflects the department’s commitment to preparedness and professional development.
Southaven officers recorded individual achievements, the department said. Lt. Porcha Taylor finished second in the sit-and-reach competition with a distance of 48 centimeters. Officer Fred Sims placed fourth in the sit-up event with 62 repetitions.
The Southaven Police Department, the municipal police force responsible for public safety in the city, said the exercises help officers maintain readiness for the job’s physical and tactical demands. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
