Jackson Police welcome 71st Training Academy graduates
The Jackson Police Department posted on Facebook that it celebrated the graduation of the 71st JPD Training Academy recruit class, welcoming newly commissioned officers into the department.
Chief Rashall Brackney, members of the command staff and the JPD Training Academy staff thanked community members who attended the ceremony, the department said. The post said the department is proud to welcome its newest sworn officers as they begin careers in selfless service.
The department said the graduates join efforts to keep the “city, county, and surrounding communities” safer for residents, workers and visitors. Police academies provide classroom instruction and tactical training designed to prepare recruits for patrol duties, community engagement and enforcement responsibilities.
