Southaven officers compete in 24th National LawFit Challenge
Southaven Police Department said on its Facebook page that a group of officers will represent the agency in the 24th annual National LawFit Challenge, testing strength, endurance and pursuit skills against other agencies.
The department said officers from various ranks and divisions will test their skills and cheer one another on. Events listed in the post include bench press, sit-ups, a 1.5-mile run, pull-ups and a pursuit competition.
The Southaven Police Department serves the city of Southaven, Mississippi, a suburb of Memphis, and employs officers across patrol, investigations and specialty units. The department frequently highlights training and fitness activities as part of its public outreach and officer readiness efforts.
The National LawFit Challenge is an annual fitness competition for law enforcement that brings together agencies to measure physical preparedness and teamwork. Participation can serve as both a fitness benchmark and a public demonstration of officers’ commitment to readiness for the physical demands of police work.
