The Oxford Police Department said its LawFit team is representing the department at the National LawFit Competition and giving maximum effort in each event.
The department posted a video on its Facebook page highlighting an outstanding performance in the 1.5-mile run, saying team members pushed hard on the course. Officer Dylan Hudson recorded a time of 7:52 in the event, the department said.
LawFit competitions bring together law enforcement personnel to test cardiovascular fitness, strength and job-related physical skills in a series of timed events. Departments often use these contests to measure readiness, build morale and promote officer wellness, experts say.
The Oxford Police Department asked the community to cheer the team as the competition continues. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
