Jackson Police Department asks public to wish Chief Brackney happy birthday

The Jackson Police Department posted on its Facebook page asking residents to help wish Chief RaShall Brackney a happy birthday.

The post, which encourages members of the community to send birthday greetings, appears on the department’s official social media account. Social media posts from law enforcement agencies often aim to engage residents, highlight department leaders and humanize the people who serve the community.

The chief is the highest-ranking official within a municipal police department and typically oversees operations, policy and community relations. The Jackson Police Department is the municipal law enforcement agency responsible for public safety and crime prevention in the city it serves.

The department’s invitation to join in celebrating the chief’s birthday underscores the growing use of social media by police agencies to build community connections and boost morale among personnel. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
