Oxford police compete in National LawFit competition
Officers from the Oxford Police Department are representing their agency at the National LawFit Competition, the department said in a Facebook post. The department said the team has approached the events with “determination and heart” and has given each event its all.
The department said this afternoon’s events included one-minute timed sit-ups and the sit-and-reach flexibility test, with members working through the exercises as the competition continues.
LawFit is a national fitness program and competition designed to assess the physical readiness of law enforcement officers through standardized strength, endurance and flexibility events. Departments use such competitions to benchmark training, promote officer wellness and demonstrate readiness to the communities they serve.
The Oxford Police Department said it is proud of the hard work each member is putting in and encouraged the public to cheer the team on. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
