Southaven honors officers during National Police Week
Southaven officials urged residents to recognize and honor men and women in law enforcement as National Police Week begins, the Southaven Police Department said in a Facebook post.
The department thanked its officers for their daily work to make Southaven a safe place to live, work and visit, and encouraged the community to join in showing appreciation for law enforcement across the country.
National Police Week is observed annually in the United States to acknowledge the service and sacrifices of police officers. Communities often use the week to express support for public safety personnel and to reflect on the difficult and sometimes dangerous nature of police work.
Local recognition can help strengthen trust between residents and officers and highlight the role law enforcement plays in community safety. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
