Sheriff creates Percy Dillon Legacy Award

Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones announced the creation of the Percy Dillon Legacy Award to honor longtime Pike County Sheriff’s Office bailiff Percy Dillon, the office said in a Facebook post from its public relations department.

The post said Dillon has served Pike County with professionalism, integrity, humility and unwavering dedication for many years. The award will recognize individuals who exemplify the qualities of service, character, dependability and dedication that the post attributes to Dillon.

“Mr. Percy Dillon represents the very best of public service,” Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones said in the post. “His loyalty, work ethic, and servant’s heart have earned the respect of everyone who has had the privilege of working alongside him.”

The sheriff’s office said the award is meant to honor Dillon’s legacy and to inspire future generations of law enforcement professionals. Sheriff offices typically provide law enforcement, court security and related community services, and internal awards are often used to recognize exemplary service.
