Sgt. White receives Sunshine Dispatcher award
Sgt. Haley White of the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department Communications Division has received the National Recognition Sunshine Dispatcher Award, a Facebook post announced.
The Sunshine Dispatcher National Recognition Award was created by Gold Line Support and is proudly sponsored by GovWorx, the post said. The honor recognizes public safety telecommunicators and 911 dispatchers who bring positivity, calm and strong leadership to their communications centers.
Gold Line Support is a nonprofit organization that provides mental health services, wellness resources, peer support and recognition for 911 dispatchers and emergency telecommunicators nationwide, the post said. The organization’s motto is “Before the lights, Before the siren, There is a voice.” The Facebook post also said Shivers Fish House Express of Star, Mississippi, donated a gift card in recognition of White.
Public safety telecommunicators handle emergency calls and coordinate responses, and industry groups and awards programs aim to highlight the often unseen work they perform. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
