Sheriff Bailey awards deputy Lifesaving Award after crash response
During a morning meeting of the Rankin County Board of Supervisors, Sheriff Bailey awarded Deputy McKenzie Taylor the department’s Lifesaving Award for her actions while treating the victim of a motor vehicle crash on June 23, 2026, the Rankin County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post.
Deputy McKenzie Taylor is assigned to the Patrol Division of the Rankin County Sheriff’s Department, the county’s primary law enforcement agency in Rankin County, Mississippi.
The lifesaving award recognizes deputies whose responses and care assist injured people at emergency scenes, often stabilizing patients until emergency medical personnel arrive. Such recognition highlights the training and readiness of patrol deputies who routinely respond to crashes, medical emergencies and other urgent incidents.
The Sheriff’s Office did not provide further details about the crash, the victim’s condition or the specifics of Deputy Taylor’s actions in its post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
