Pike County sheriff attends luncheon honoring linemen, first responders

Chief Damian Gatlin of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office and members of the sheriff’s team recently attended a Lineman and First Responders Appreciation Luncheon at the main branch of Pike National Bank, the sheriff’s office said.

The event brought together community members to recognize the dedication and service of linemen and first responders who play vital roles in public safety and infrastructure, the Pike County Sheriff’s Office Public Relations Department said in a Facebook post.

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office enforces laws, provides public safety services and coordinates with other emergency response agencies in the county. Local linemen maintain and repair electrical systems and utilities, while first responders such as law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel respond to accidents, disasters and medical emergencies.

The sheriff’s office thanked sponsors who helped make the luncheon possible and noted the event as an opportunity for the community to show appreciation for everyday heroes. The department posted the notice with the hashtag #ServiceBeforeSelf. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
