Pike County sheriff attends First Responders appreciation luncheon
Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones, Chief Damian Gatlin and members of the Pike County Sheriff’s Office attended a First Responders Appreciation Day luncheon at West McComb Baptist Church, the sheriff’s office said.
The Pike County Sheriff’s Office Public Relations Department thanked Pastor Hunter Wooldridge and his church team for their hospitality and a home-cooked meal, saying the congregation’s support meant a great deal to local emergency personnel.
“We are so grateful for the outpouring of love and support shown by West McComb Baptist Church. We are truly blessed to have such unwavering support from our community,” Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones said in a statement provided by the sheriff’s office.
First Responders Appreciation Day events typically recognize the work of law enforcement officers, firefighters and emergency medical personnel and aim to strengthen ties between public safety agencies and the communities they serve. The sheriff’s office used the hashtag #ServiceBeforeSelf in its post.
This is a developing story and will be updated as more details emerge.
