Coahoma County honors first responders at annual luncheon

The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office said it held its annual First Responders Luncheon on Friday, May 8, in Coahoma County, Mississippi, to recognize and celebrate the men and women who serve and protect the community.

The sheriff’s office said the event offered an opportunity to thank personnel for their dedication, sacrifice and ongoing commitment to public safety. Organizers described the luncheon as a chance for community members to show appreciation for police, fire and emergency medical services providers.

The sheriff’s office singled out a number of individuals and organizations for special thanks, including CHS Beta Club, City Telecoin, Deon Elmore, Donald Green, Summit Food Services, Terrance Webb and Walmart, and it thanked every volunteer, supporter and participant who helped make the event successful.

Coahoma County is in northwest Mississippi and includes the city of Clarksdale. Community events such as this luncheon are one way local officials and residents acknowledge the work of first responders. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
