Officers respond to reported shooting in Hattiesburg

Hattiesburg Police said officers responded to a report of shots fired about 8 p.m. Friday, April 17, in the 600 block of Phoenix Circle and found one person suffering from a gunshot wound.

The victim was transported to a local hospital for treatment, and the individual’s condition was not available at the time of the report, Hattiesburg Police said. The department said the incident remains under investigation.

The Hattiesburg Police Department, which provides law enforcement services for the city in southeastern Mississippi, frequently asks the public for assistance when investigations involve shootings and other violent crimes.
