Jackson police, Capitol Police respond to shooting at North Hill Parkway

Jackson Police Department, with assistance from Capitol Police, is investigating a shooting at 20 North Hill Parkway that left three people injured, the department said in a social media post.

Police said none of the victims had life-threatening injuries at the time of the briefing. Chief Brackney was joined by Chief Bo Luckey as they provided an update to reporters in a Facebook reel posted by the department.

The Jackson Police Department is the primary law enforcement agency for the city of Jackson and routinely handles violent-crime investigations, traffic enforcement and community policing. Capitol Police agencies generally provide security and law enforcement support for government properties and sometimes assist local departments with critical incidents.

Authorities said they are continuing their investigation and have not released additional details about suspects or a motive in the reel. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
