Lincoln County disaster center closes Saturday; Bogue Chitto remains open

One Disaster Service Center in Lincoln County will close Saturday, July 25, 2026, at 2 p.m., the Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said. The center at the East Lincoln Fire Department will close; the center at the Bogue Chitto Fire Department will remain open.

MEMA said residents whose homes or property were affected by the May 6-7 storms (DR-4922) can visit other Disaster Service Centers to get help with FEMA applications, learn about available state and local resources, and speak with U.S. Small Business Administration representatives about disaster loans.

Centers are open in Franklin, Lamar, Lawrence, Lincoln and Wilkinson counties. Hours are Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Saturday, 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.; centers are closed Sunday, MEMA said.

MEMA said people do not have to visit a center to apply for assistance. Applicants can also apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov, through the FEMA app or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). Disaster Recovery Centers provide in-person help with federal assistance applications and information about recovery resources. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
