Lafayette County Republican Women bring snacks to Oxford officers during National Police Week
Lafayette County Republican Women stopped by the Oxford Police Department with snacks and goodies for officers and staff, the department said in a Facebook post. The gesture came during National Police Week, a time set aside to recognize law enforcement service and sacrifice.
The Lafayette County Republican Women are a local civic organization that participates in community activities and supports local initiatives. Community groups often use National Police Week to show appreciation for public safety personnel, and the Oxford Police Department said it was grateful for the support.
Officials and community leaders say small acts of thanks can boost morale among officers and staff and help strengthen relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve. The department’s post thanked the group for stopping by and acknowledged the meaning of such gestures during the week of observance.
Details about the visit were limited to the department’s social media post. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
