Community volunteers bring treats to Oxford police for National Police Week

The Woodson Ridge Club of the Lafayette County Community Volunteers stopped by the Oxford Police Department station with sweet treats during National Police Week, the department said in a Facebook post.

“Gestures like this mean the world to our staff,” the post said, adding that the department is grateful for the show of support. National Police Week is observed annually to recognize law enforcement officers and to honor those who have died in the line of duty.

The Woodson Ridge Club is part of a local network of volunteers in Lafayette County that supports community programs and events. Such groups often organize food drives, fundraisers and outreach efforts to build relationships between residents and public servants.

The visit underscores the role community support plays in local policing, offering morale boosts and public recognition for officers and civilian staff. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
