Gulfport police arrest woman after Emerald Pines drive-by shooting
Gulfport police arrested 21-year-old Leona Ireyannia Boykin of Gulfport on July 20, 2026, charging her with six counts of aggravated assault after a drive-by shooting at Emerald Pines Apartments, the Gulfport Police Department said in a Facebook post.
Officers responded about 7:48 p.m. to reports of a drive-by shooting and found Boykin and another woman involved in a physical altercation, the post said. Both were detained while officers investigated.
During the investigation, officers determined Boykin fired a handgun multiple times toward a group of people, according to the post. Multiple spent shell casings were recovered at the scene and an apartment was struck by gunfire.
Boykin was processed and taken to the Harrison County Adult Detention Center, where she is being held on a $600,000 bond set by Judge Fountain, the post said.
