Gulfport Police welcome Little Peoples Christian Academy students for station tour
The Gulfport Police Department said in a Facebook post that students and staff from Little Peoples Christian Academy, Inc. visited the police station for a guided tour and a ceremonial swearing-in as the department’s newest “officers” before the visit began.
During the visit, the department said the children had the opportunity to see police equipment and learn about how officers serve the community. The post said the students asked questions throughout the tour and kept staff smiling.
The department thanked the school for the visit and encouraged the young visitors to “stay safe, have fun, and remember…you’re never too little to make a big difference!” The post included hashtags highlighting community policing and building trust between officers and residents.
Community outreach and education programs like station tours are commonly used by law enforcement agencies to strengthen relationships with local schools and introduce children to public safety careers. We will provide more information as it becomes available.
