Church delivers fresh produce to support Pike County Sheriff’s Fresh Picks initiative

The Encouragers in Christ Sunday School Class from First Baptist Church of Summit delivered fresh fruits and vegetables to support the Pike County Sheriff’s Office “Fresh Picks” initiative, the sheriff’s office said. The donations came from First Baptist Church of Summit in Summit, Mississippi, and were intended to promote health and wellness for department staff.

“Our priority is the health and wellness of our staff. When they’re well, they’re better equipped to serve and protect the citizens of Pike County. We truly appreciate First Baptist Church of Summit for partnering with us to promote wellness in our department,” Sheriff Bryant “Wally” Jones said.

The Pike County Sheriff’s Office oversees law enforcement in Pike County, and community partnerships such as this one are commonly used by local agencies to support employee well-being and public service readiness. First Baptist Church of Summit is a local congregation that participates in community service and charitable efforts, including food and wellness drives.
