UMMC recognizes 992 graduates at 70th commencement
The University of Mississippi Medical Center is recognizing 992 graduates during its 70th commencement ceremony at the Mississippi Coliseum, the medical center said in a Facebook post. Families, friends, faculty and graduates are arriving for a day set aside to celebrate achievement, perseverance and the future of health care in Mississippi.
UMMC said the ceremony marks a milestone for students who completed programs across its health sciences campus. The institution trains physicians, nurses and other health professionals and serves as a key academic medical center in the state.
Officials are streaming the ceremony live at umc.edu/commencement-live, the post said. Commencement ceremonies signal the transition of newly qualified professionals into workplaces where they will help address the state’s health needs.
