Commencement begins at Mississippi Coliseum; UMMC School of Nursing opens ceremony
Commencement is underway at the Mississippi Coliseum in Jackson, with the University of Mississippi Medical Center’s School of Nursing opening the ceremony, a Facebook post said.
The post identified the first graduate recognized as Brittany Anderson of Winona, Mississippi, who is graduating with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the UMMC School of Nursing. The university is streaming the ceremony at umc.edu/commencement-live, the post said.
The Mississippi Coliseum routinely hosts large university and community events and serves as a central venue for graduations in the Jackson area. The UMMC School of Nursing is part of the University of Mississippi Medical Center and prepares students for clinical roles across the state.
