Shad White delivers commencement address at Northwest Mississippi Community College

State Auditor Shad White delivered the commencement address to graduates of Northwest Mississippi Community College, the auditor’s office said in a Facebook post. The office said White was honored to speak to the graduating class and urged graduates to follow a simple theme he emphasized throughout his remarks: “do what’s right even when it’s not easy.”

According to the post, Auditor White’s full speech is available on the auditor’s YouTube channel. The office did not provide additional details about the ceremony in the post.

The state auditor oversees audits of public funds and the work of state agencies, a role that often informs public messages about ethics and civic responsibility. Messages about integrity and perseverance are common in commencement addresses because they speak to choices graduates will face as they enter careers, advanced study or the workforce.
