William Carey men’s soccer shuts out Central Baptist 6-0

William Carey University defeated Central Baptist 6-0 in road action in Conway, Arkansas, as the Crusaders held the Mustangs without a shot and secured the shutout.

William Carey took the lead in the 12th minute when Miguel Cardona connected with Souleymane Balde in the attacking third. Six minutes later, Balde teamed with Enzo Galli for his second goal of the half, giving the Crusaders a 2-0 advantage.

The Crusaders maintained possession for much of the remainder of the first half and carried the two-goal lead into halftime.

Fernando Pirry scored in the 65th minute to make it 3-0, and Daniel Mulero added another goal in the 72nd minute. Diego Sammur extended the lead to 5-0 one minute later.

Mario Camacho completed the scoring in the 76th minute, converting a setup from Pirry for the 6-0 victory.

William Carey will host Point University in conference play on Thursday, October 8, at 7:30 p.m. at Danny Owens Field.
