The William Carey women’s soccer team defeated Dalton State College 6-0 on Sunday afternoon in Dalton, Georgia, controlling the match from the opening whistle.
The Lady Crusaders outshot Dalton State 34-6 and put 20 shots on goal. William Carey generated 21 shots in the first half, including 11 on target, and took a 3-0 lead into halftime.

Luana Falconeri opened the scoring in the 11th minute, and Linda Mustered added a goal three minutes later to make it 2-0. Raquel Batalla Royo scored in the 39th minute, sending William Carey into halftime with the three-goal advantage.
Mustered scored again in the 55th minute. Susan De Souza Santos headed in a cross three minutes later, and Kayla Martin completed the scoring in the 63rd minute after Paloma Paris and Mustered combined to set up the chance.
William Carey will host Wesleyan College at Danny Owens Field on Thursday, October 1. Kickoff is scheduled for 5 p.m.
